We've been trying the best we can to hold it together with plastic and duct tape, but even duct tape can go only so far! Unemployment and medical problems have kept us from doing what really needs to be done, but something will have to be done soon. Sure would love to win!

Five years ago I bought this little house and planned to fix it up one piece at a time. Since then it's been 'swamp coolers, and drywall and flooring, oh my!' Being a single woman I work hard and try to learn but soon found myself in a little over my head. Now, there is an unfinished floor, walls, and missing molding. I have stopped having people over and always meet others at their houses. I am so embarassed about the state of my bathroom I cringe to use it myself. Daily I stare at this daunting project and think, "will it be like this for another five years?" Plese help me!! I feel so dirty just trying to get clean!

Our house was built in the 80's and it shows in our master bathroom!! Part of the bathroom is carpeted and the other half is lovely salmon colored tile, mix this with the red ornate tiles in the shower, the green toilet that was repainted white and is chipping, and a marble swirl vanity and you will be transported to the place in time you wanted to forget!! Like everyone else the economy has put this on the backburner, but it is sooo in need of a makeover. Our 7 year old daughter has asthma and this shower breeds mildew no matter how hard I scrub and steam!! Please, please, please consider us for a updated bathroom!!!!

When my tub got a crack, I had to tear it out with a sledge hammer. Once it was out, I didn't have the money for repairs so here it sits - empty, empty, empty.
The tub had a crack,
it had to go.
The only thing is,
I ran out of dough.
No tub, no tile,
and carpet to boot,
this was going to take
a whole lotta loot!
The ugly bath contest
was a blessing you see.
Knights in tile armor
will be the key.
To a brand new bathroom,
tub, tile the works.
Tile Meister and Channel 5
will work out the quirks.
If only I win
the ugliest bath contest,
Tile Meister will be there
to do their best!!

When we purchased our house (built in 1964) in 2006 we knew this bathroom would need to be remodeled and we tried to save money for the remodeling project but within a year we had to purchase a furnace and a hot water tank and the bathroom project got put aside. A year and a half ago we had Tile Meister come and give us a quote and hoped to start the project in a couple of months. But we soon had a couple of medical emergancies and last year paid $11,000 in medical bills, no bathroom remodel again. Ontop of this terrible, ugly bathroom our other bathroom has it's orginal blue sink, toilet and bathtub and will soon need to be remodeled also. Thank you for reading our story.
This is my Dads only bathroom in an attached add-on to my house. Can't afford to have it remodeled by a so called pro. Tried it myself a few years ago. Not to good at at it as you can see. No knowledge in this field. My dad spent 18 years raising me in a nice home. I am trying to repay him for that time, but come up short on getting something done in this bathroom. This is the ugliest part of the whole house. He is 75 years old, as everyone knows the elerly spend a lot of time in these rooms. I would like to see it look a little more appealing for him.

In these tough financial times of late, we were blessed enough to make our last house payment!! Ok. it's not really a "house", it is a 1974 Corinthean Mobile Home. Yes, I did say mobile home, but, if you anchor it, put a roof on it and pay for the land, which we did, it is no longer mobile, it is just...our humble home. In our humble home, is the original bathroom, surely commiserating, its 37th year amoung us. Please, don't get me wrong, it flushes, we are able to shower and noone has fallen through the floor or tub! I should be more thankful!!! For a while now, we've known that our showers were numbered! And, that poor, sad and distraught toilet bowl...well... no matter, how much "crap" we give it...It'll just keep on taking our "crap". No ifs, ands or BUTTS about it! That, is why we call it " Our Humble Commode ", and the reason why she deserves to win your makeover giveaway! Tile Meister and KREX-TV, what do you say?, Do you want to be the ones to pick our first (paid for)homeowners project?! Thanks for this opportunity!

Dad and I started this "project" over a year ago now. Silly boys that we are we were sure it would be done by now. Obviously it ain't. Some advice: beware of houses that belonged to horders that have been left empty for 2+ years. They'll such the money and time from you till they are dry. Well maybe not quite dry. But when most everything needs fixed and refinished, you start where you cook and eat; then go to where you live and friends visit; if you make it then to your bedroom(s); and your best friend probably will appreciate a yard and fence; oh and coverings for the windows to help stay warm. Maybe then you can do the bathroom if there is anything left in you or your wallet. Well, we still had some sweat left in us, but the wallet ran out. So the very old vanity has to share a head duct with the room across an opening that really is really just the door. I hope beyond home that the bemis seat stays on the top side of the floor. I suppose it is interesting to see how the shower and tub are plumbed each day to make sure it hasn't changed. And if I'm lucky, my wet feet from the shower won't weaken the raw wood on the unfinished floor anytime soon. And if I'm really lucky, I won't get a sliver in my foot getting out of the shower that gets infected, turn gangrenous (sp), and has to be amputated. But if I'm REALLY, REALLY lucky, Tile Meister will take pitty and help me do what just can't be done any other way right now. "Thanks Tile Meister".

This "Water Closet" (aptly named), at 170 Rainbow might be the most undesirable bathroom you will ever enter. It started out worse though. Upon first viewing, you could not get in and the door would not open because the former resident had it filled with "stuff". You can walk in now, but that is about it. As you can see, you have to lean to the left to sit on the extremely ugly throne; you must move the utility rack to get to the very ugly sink; and if you resemble Twiggy, you might be able to turn around and rinse off in the tiny but still very ugly shower. There was so much to do on this house that the money ran out before things got finished. So this is what I face in the summer when I want to stay downstairs where it is cooler. HELP; PLEASE!!!
