Yesterday, 6 July, at about 4PM, my Service Dog, Cash, was hit by a truck while he was off duty. The truck didn't stop. In fear, Cash took off into the woods and has not been seen since.
My boyfriend and I are currently living in Molina, CO. His extended family was visiting. Cash enjoys being around people, I don't. He was off duty, enjoying the company upstairs, and I was down in the basement reading. I guess they let him out, and then with out asking me first they took him with while they rode ATVs.
While they were out running, apparently a truck hit him, didn't stop, and he took off scared into the woods. We have reached out to many people to keep an eye out and have searched extensively, but to no avail. He is wearing a blue nylon collar and my cell phone number is on his name tag.
I have been trying to find someone to contact that has a dog that can track as he is in an area with a lot of coverage and it's hard to search everywhere with eyes.
I'm hoping that by reaching out on the news, maybe someone with a tracking dog with good skills would be willing to help search for him.
This dog is my lifeline. He has given me freedom and hope to life again. Please help me recover him and give him the medical attention he needs.
