Last night's new/crescent moon

Last night's new/crescent moon

The full caption is embedded within the file: the moon was <31 past new at 6PM when this shot was taken a few minutes before moonset behind the Uncompahgre Plateau. (Note the 3 airplanes.) The thin crescent had been visible for ~45 minutes up til then, so lots of people probably saw it if they were outside then. Stunningly beautiful.

Weather permitting, we'll have something of a repeat performance tonight and tomorrow night as the moon goes by Venus. You can't miss it in the WSW from around sunset til early in the evening.
