I currently work in a preschool where I talk to kids and parents all the time and I am embarrassed by my mouth. I am also in college to be a teacher and after my BA I am going for my masters in Speech Pathology. This is how I want to help children but to do Speech Pathology kids and parents are looking directly at your mouth because you have to show then how to hold their mouth and tongue to speak clearly. I also have two children of my own and I do not want them to ever be embarrassed by my looks. I am a happy person but rarely smile. I want braces more than I can say but I cannot afford them. I have one child in braces, one who will need them when his adult teeth are all in and I have no insurance to help with the cost of my braces. If you pick me as one of the lucky three to get braces I will be so greatful and you would make me smile everyday and make me more confident while helping children learn to speak. The last thing I would like to mention is that my teeth cause me pain. I have many headaches which I have been told could be from my teeth and I have a hard time keeping my teeth and gums healthy because they are so crooked that it is hard to get them clean.
