Garrie Krizman is my brother in law and 2nd generation Grand Junction native. He is 51 years old and fighting Stage 3 colon cancer. Famous Dave's BBQ at Mesa Mall is hosting a benefit for him on March 6 all day. 10% of all proceeds will go towards helping him in his fight. We are hoping to also raise awareness about the importance of early screening and detection. Garrie was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer at the recommended 50 year old colonoscopy. He had no symptoms and was an otherwise healthy athletic man. If he had waited even a year, the prognosis might have been grim. My mother passed away from Colon and Bladder Cancer just weeks before Garrie was diagnosed . This has been a very tough year for my family and I would very much appreciate it if you could help us promote this benefit.
