My dad purchased this place over a year ago. His goal was to find a "fixer upper". He did achieve this goal. This is a two story lake view townhome. He is a single, full time, hard working gentleman. He has two children. His name is Mike. I am his daughter, Katie. I helped him pull up the carpet, which is about 40 years old. My brother, Adam, helped dad scrape the popcorn off the ceiling. Our father has a big heart, and always helps his children achieve their dreams. Now it is our turn to help dad achieve his dream.
My father works full time and does not have much time to dedicate to his remodel dreams. He has always been talented and used to be a carpenter when he was going to college. He takes extra time to teach Adam (my brother) and I how to do work around the house by ourselves. He has so many plans to dress up his "fixer upper". Mike would benefit from this contest because as a single father, he is alone most of the time. Our hope with the re-model of the bathroom is for dad to remember his children love him very much; and is never really alone in his heart.
He uses this shower to go to work every morning. He wakes up every morning to a bathroom with no carpet. In Colorado, winters can be brutal and cold feet in the bathroom don't feel good. He uses a toilet with a broken toilet seat. Now, the leak from the ceiling, poses more plumbing work before the bathroom can become what he dreams.
My brother and I help dad with the landscape outside, scraping the popcorn off the ceiling, pulling up carpet, re-texturing the walls, and taking old curtain rods down. My father has been a great role model for us. He has always been there for his children. I would hope that I can show my love for a hardworking, big hearted father by giving him the BATHROOM OF HIS DREAMS in his "fixer upper". Love you Forever DAD.
