When we 1st looked at our house 10 years ago, my husband kept telling me, “It needs a lot of work Babe.” Every time I would say something positive about the house, he would say, “It needs a lot of work babe.” It needs a lot of work I do not know if it was that we were living with my in laws for 7 long, hard months or that we were not finding or seeing anything decent that we like. It seemed open and spacious to me and I love the ½-acre lot. My husband knew of the gentlemen that lived next door and though he would be a great neighbor. We have done little things here and there when we could afford it. Me running and in home day care in the home for 5 years, so I could stay home with my daughter and still have income did NOT help with “It needs a lot of work babe” it made it worse. I took care of 8 children a day 5 days a week and I loved every minute of it, but it was a lot more wear and tear on the home. My dad came to visit in December of 2004 and he and my husband were going to fix a leak in my daughter’s bath tub the following day after his arrival, but he died that 1st night of his visit in my 5 year olds bed, in her bedroom. The plunger was broke on her tub for years. My son and his girlfriend were coming to visit so I wanted it fixed because you could only take a bath, no shower. I had someone fix it for me, but then it sprung a leak and soaked the floor in our bathroom and dining room. We could not afford to fix it for a long time. Then a time came in our lives in 2010 that we could afford a little remodeling. We re-did our daughters bedroom with the help of a brother-in-law and nephew free of charge. The materials kept adding up fast and we almost have it finished. So, we picked back up on our daughters bathroom to try and get it finished. We are approx. ½ way done. The I got laid off from my job and my husband’s job has been off and on so, we have not had the money to finish our daughters bathroom because we are barely able to pay our bills. Meanwhile our bathroom gets worse every day. There are so many cracks in the bottom of the tub that we cannot take a bath and you can smell the water thru the walls, during and after every shower. Its mildew, ugly, and we could really use some help. The enclosed pictures are of our main bathroom.
