A Dark and Dissapointing Master Bathroom

My husband, Jason, and I recently purchased this foreclosure in the Redlands. A home we can see us raising a family in. It built in the early 80s, it still has all the 80s sytle. As you will see from the photos, there is lots of polished brass, dark brown veneer wood, laminate flooring and poor lighting.

Our dream for this bathroom is to make a pocket doorway from the hall (since it has two small doors from each of the adjoining bedrooms), make the shower into a open shower stall with floor to ceiling glass, move the toilet into a nook by the shower for some privacy, keep the double vanity but trick it out with undermount sinks and a solid surface counter, do some built-ins around the mirror and put in a large, clawfoot tub where the toilet is now.

Our master bedroom is huge and we can steal a little room from there to make it all fit comfortably.

Both my husband and I are 6 feet tall and the shower-head is lower than our heads, so we do some creating yoga-gymnastics to wash our hair.

I hope we are chosen for this makeover. It would be awesome. Thanks.

what a boring bathroom you got with the new house! I know you guys will turn it into a sweet master-suite of a bathroom! I LOVE the clawfoot tub and pocket door idea!

This bathroom has so much potential! It looks like so many of the bathrooms I have seen while looking Real Estate in the area. Redoing this bathroom would help people see the possibilities! Also, it seems like the owners have some good ideas!

We would also like to do a skylight in the bathroom to brighten it up.
