RIFLE, Colo. - A wildfire broke out in Rifle Sunday afternoon prompting the evacuation of those recreating on nearby land. The fire was fully contained later Sunday evening.

Officials with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) confirmed the fire was three acres in size near the Fravert Reservoir. No businesses or residences are in danger.

A total of six fire engines and 45 firefighters responded to the fire and two drops have been made by a single engine air tanker.

Despite the high winds and potential to spread, BLM official David Boyd said the fire is no longer actively growing.

Crews will continue to work on containment of the fire.

The cause of the flames is still under investigation.
