EAGLE COUNTY, Colo.- A sinkhole forces crews with the Colorado Department of Transportation to partially close a portion of an Eagle County highway.
The sinkhole is on state Highway 24 at mile marker 152 near Minturn.
Crews are alternating traffic through one lane as repairs are completed.
Wide load truck-traffic is restricted from the highway until the sinkhole is repaired.
The alternate route for truck traffic is State Highway 91, near Leadville.
The sinkhole is nine feet wide in the centerline of the roadway and the reason for the damage is due to an old culvert in the location.
