GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.–Senior forward Hannah Pollart picked a good night to have her best game of the season. Pollart tallied a season-high 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mavericks to a 74-61 win over the Colorado Christian Cougars on Saturday night in Brownson Arena.
The win gives the Mavericks a school record 19 straight wins, eclipsing last year's team which won their first 18 games. The win also gives Colorado Mesa 32 wins in a row at home in Brownson Arena.
Pollart had 12 points and two rebounds at halftime but was able to secure nine rebounds in the second half including six on the offensive end.
Sharaya Selsor led all scorers with 23 points. Selsor also added nine rebounds and seven assists in the game.
Colorado Mesa shot just 36 percent (23-of-63) from the field but shot 81 percent (21-of-26) from the free-throw line. The Mavericks also outrebounded the Cougars 44-38 in the game including 17-14 advantage on the offensive glass.
Colorado Christian was held to just 38 percent (23-of-60) from the field and they were held to just two made three-pointers (2-for-12) in the game.
The Cougars were led by Claire Paxton's 15 points.
The Mavericks will make the final long trip of the regular season next weekend when they travel to Black Hills State on Friday and Chadron State on Saturday.
