GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - On Aug. 1, the town of De Beque started accepting applications for recreational marijuana pot shops. The applications have been available for a little more than a week now, and De Beque has only seen one applicant.
A town hall representative tells NewsChannel 5 that they weren't expecting a lot of applicants because there are only two buildings that fit the legal criteria for a retail marijuana shop.
The person/company interested will remain anonymous until the town is finished processing the application. If the application is approved, it will go through a planning and zoning commission which will allow public comment.
