GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-No. 6 Palm Beach St. (3-1) def. No. 5 Midland (1-2), 7-6 in 10 innings Tuesday afternoon at Suplizio Field to advance in the 2013 Junior College World Series. Jose Lazaro picked up his second win in as many days in a relief appearance. The sophomore right-hander threw one and two-thirds shutout innings, while allowing only one hit. The Panthers led 4-0 after the first inning, but in the 9th Midland's Jeremie Fagnan had a two-RBI double to send the game into extras. Freshman Shortstop, Marcus Mooney led the offensive attack for Palm Beach State going 3-6 at the dish, while knocking in the game-winning RBI in the top of the tenth inning. The loss eliminates Midland and moves Palm Beach State into a game on Thursday where they will play the winner between No.1 Spartanburg Methodist and No. 8 Central Alabama.
