Neosho, Sinclair Prevail in Pitchers' Duel at JUCO World Series

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--In an old fashioned pitchers' duel, Neosho topped Cochise, 2-1, Sunday night in the final first-round matchup of the 2013 JUCO World Series. The game was tied at one heading into the bottom of the eighth, when Jake O'Brien hit a go-ahead solo shot to left field. Chance Sinclair got the win for the Panthers, giving up one run on four hits in nine strong innings. On the other side, Xavier Altamirano gave up two runs on eight hits while striking out eight. Both starters threw 111 pitches. Next up, Neosho will play the winner between Connors State and Spartanburg, while Cochise will face the loser.
