GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred around 5:15 p.m. Saturday. Officials say the man was making the curve at Pitkin Avenue and lost control, crashing into a concrete barrier, and died on scene. They are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office identified him as 57-year-old Ronald Terry Wilson, of Grand Junction.

Southbound 1st Street was closed for roughly three hours during their investigation, with a detour set up on Main Street.

The motorcyclist was traveling with approximately 8-10 other bikers, but no one else in the group crashed, officials said. He was not wearing a helmet, according to police.
