MONTROSE, Colo. - This past Tuesday, city officials in Montrose discussed the pet ordinance in which a limit of two dogs and two cats are allowed per household.
The hearing on Tuesday was the second meeting to discuss a few exceptions to the pet ordinance. The Montrose City Council concluded that, with an approval from the Montrose Police Chief, there can be certain instances where a household can exceed the limit.
The variance procedure will take into account those households that feel they need to exceed this limit. This might include military families or households with service dogs. Officials say that this slight new change will not affect most people.
