Iowa Western Holds First Practice In Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Iowa Western held their first JUCO World Series practice in Grand Junction Wednesday night at Bergman Field.

The Reivers are making their eighth appearance in ten years and are looking for their third championship in the last five years.

Dom Thompson-Williams leads the team in batting average with a .414 average.  He also has 13 doubles and 7 triples.  Erik Swanson and Sean Johnson are a combined 18-2.  Swanson has 88 strikeouts and a 2.62 ERA while Johnson, a Durango native has 78 strikeouts.

Iowa Western will open the 2014 World Series Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against Columbia St.
