Grand Junction Tops Palisade, Fruita Survives Road Test

The Fruita girls basketball team handed Montrose its first league loss of the season.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Grand Junction boys and girls basketball teams defeated Palisade in non-league action Tuesday night at Brownson Arena.

Broderick Robinson led the way as the Tigers (15-2) cruised to a 54-34 victory over the Bulldogs.

On the girls’ side, Grand Junction (16-1) held on in the final seconds en route to a 46-43 win.

The Fruita Monument girls handed Montrose its first Southwestern League loss of the season, 27-25. The boys were also victorious, 67-56 over the Indians.
