GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- The Grand Junction Rockies beat the Ogden Raptors by forfeit 9-0 on Tuesday night.
The start of the game was delayed due to rain but the two teams played on shorty after the rain subsided.
The Rox scored first off of a sacrifice fly ball from Forrest Wall that brought in Omar Carrizales from third base.
The fourth inning belonged to the Raptors. They put 4 runs on the board by way of two home runs, one of which brought in two runs followed by a sacrifice bunt that brought in the fourth run.
It seemed the Raptors had control of the game until the rain came back but the umpire did not call the game.
Raptors manager, Jack McDowell filed a protest, citing unsafe playing conditions but the umpires continued play. McDowell was later ejected heading into the bottom of the seventh inning after yelling at the umpire for not calling the game.
Ogden forfeited Tuesday night's game after not sending their players back onto the field.
The Rockies officially won the game by forfeit, 9-0.
