DENVER, Colo. - Colorado Rep. Cory Gardner plans to enter the Republican Senate primary to challenge U.S. Senator Mark Udall for his seat this fall.

Gardner is said to have passed on the Senate race months ago but now has reconsidered, according to the Denver Post.

According to KDVR, Gardner is set to make an official announcement in the coming days.

This latest news brings another development in the race: the original front-runner against Udall, Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck, said Wednesday that he will drop out of the race and instead run for Gardner's open House seat.
