GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - Freedom! Colorado held a primary election forum Thursday evening for candidates for Mesa County Sheriff, Assessor, County Clerk and Recorder, and District 2 Commissioner.

Candidates answered questions about their plans for the future.

"Now is the time for us to really take a close look at all of our motor vehicle laws and rules and make sure that when we implement the new system, we're implementing something that is efficient and user-friendly to the citizens in the state of Colorado," said Sheila Reiner, current Mesa County Clerk and Recorder.

"Good strong background in community policing, and I feel like the time, this would be very good to reestablish, it was here once before and I think now's the time to take it to another level," said Mesa County Sheriff candidate James Lange.

All but one of the Mesa County Sheriff candidates were present, and each stressed voters should focus on voting for the individual with the correct qualifications rather than political party affiliation.
