MESA COUNTY, Colo. - An evening fire broke out in the Grand Valley late Thursday night.

According to Central Orchard Mesa's Fire Protection District, the blaze was reported just after 9:30 p.m., at 3198 C Road.

Officials say it was contained to only one structure - a mobile home that was being used as storage with no one living inside.

No injuries were reported. Residents in the area did report hearing a loud blast near the fire, but officials say all indications are that the noise came from the vehicle's tires blowing out as the heat engulfed them.

The investigation as to the official cause of the fire is ongoing.
