OURAY, Colo.- US 550 over Red Mountain Pass remains closed due to continuous rock fall at mile marker 90, two miles south of Ouray.

According to the latest information from the Colorado Department of Transportation, a helicopter is transporting three rock fall crew members and two additional spotters from the department's geology group to the highest rock fall site.

Crews are bringing down rocks by hand, with the use of 5-foot long pry bars.

Any rock debris that remains on the roadway will be hauled away when the area is deemed safe for workers.

Officials say it is too soon to say when a finish date will be, or provide a re-open time at this point.
