MAYBELL, Colo.- Crews respond to a large wildfire 14 miles north of Maybell in northwest Colorado Wednesday. The Alkali Fire made significant runs through sagebrush and grass early Wednesday, jumping county roads and creating embers which started spot fires.

Official say the spread potential remains high.

Three people were evacuated from the area and pipelines also pose a concern for firefighters.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time. No containment time has been established.
