MESA COUNTY, Colo. - On Monday morning, Mesa County Commissioners approved the contract for an upcoming guardrail project. The Guardrail Program is an annual project that is decided by officials with Public Works at the Mesa County Central Services. An area is selected each year to undergo guardrail installation or maintenance.

The project was chosen this year to include Kannah Creek, Reeder Mesa, Lands End, and North Divide Roads. Officials say there are many factors that will indicate whether parts of roads would benefit from guardrails. These include the curve of the road, the terrain, and any past problems or incidents.

According to officials, there are still plenty of areas in Mesa County that they would like to continue to provide guardrail protection for the future.
