STATEWIDE- The latest numbers are in for Colorado's drunk driving enforcement that took place during the holidays, and authorities are pleased with 2013's report.
The latest report shows 431 people were arrested for DUI during the New Year's Eve enforcement period, in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Transportation's ongoing Heat is On impaired driving prevention campaign. Authorities say that's down from 501 arrests from last year's New Year's Eve enforcement period.
The latest enforcement began on Friday, Dec. 27 and lasted through Thursday, Jan. 2.
This was also the same trend for 2013's overall 12 enforcement periods; showing a 28 percent decrease compared to the same enforcement periods in 2012.
