GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- The Central High School Warriors have not put together a winning season since 2004.  The team has not even won a game in the past two years.

This is a new season and the players at Central High School believe they will turn things around in Head Coach Shawn Marsh's second season coaching the team.

The Warriors bring back their starting quarterback from last year, Senior Wyatt McElwayne and Junior tailback, Cheyenne "Tonka" Little-Fawn.  These two leaders will set the tempo on offense and will play a big role in dictating the amount of success the team has this year.

"We have nothing to lose.  We play some pretty good schools this year, Delta, Palisade, Rifle, they had pretty good wins last season.  Hopefully we can take them out.  Hopefully (we) can make the playoffs," said Little-Fawn.

Central High School opens their season Friday, August 22 at Stocker Stadium at 7:00pm.
