GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Eddie Butler paid his dues in Single A and Double A since he arrived in professional baseball two years ago, and now his hard work is paying off. Butler got the call from the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, and will start his first Major League Baseball game on Friday, June 6th in Denver, Colorado.
The former Grand Junction Rockies pitcher led the Pioneer League in ERA in 2012 with a mark of 2.13.
This season, Butler has compiled a 4-4 record for the Rockies' AA affiliate, the Tulsa Drillers, along with a 2.49 ERA.
Butler's start on Friday kicks off a three-game home series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM Mountain Time, and will be televised on ROOT Sports.
