GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A health care summit was held by the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce for small business owners to help them understand their options for coverage.
Small businesses in Colorado are not mandated by the affordable care act to provide coverage.
However, for those interested in doing so for their employees, this was a day for them to learn how to pick plans and navigate through the health care marketplace.
"I think it's very important for small businesses because it's so confusing right now for them. They do care about their employees but they just aren't sure what options are out there for them and this is one way to give them a chance to look at some of those options,” said Diane Schwenke, President & CEO Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce.
This was the first time this health summit was held, and the chamber of commerce hopes to make this an annual event.
