BOULDER, Colo. (AP)- Boulder City Manager Jane Brautigam is taking steps to ban all smoking on downtown city property, including people sitting in parked cars within designated no-smoking areas.
Brautigam signed a non-emergency rule that will not take effect until after the city considers public comment on the issue.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera, the rule would prohibit smoking in outside public space in the downtown area.
City officials compared the rule to Boulder's ban on smoking on a significant portion of the Pearl Street Mall.
