FRUITA, Colo. - Family Health West Hospital is offering free mammograms to 100 women who are either homeless or uninsured in the Grand Valley.

This is in partnership with Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, Department of Human Services, Marillac Clinic, and Latimer House. They are also offering transportation to and from the Grand Valley Catholic Outreach.

"Most women who have access to be qualified for insurance are not ones who can actually afford any kind of medical services, so they don't take advantage of it," said mammography technologist Shauna Blair.

Blair added the program follows the women through and assists them with continued care.

If you’d like to see if you qualify for a free mammogram, call Tina Felt with Family Health West at (970) 858-2112.
