GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- The Fruita Monument Wildcats football team got shutout in their first game of the 2014 season, losing to the Denver East Angels 41-0.

The Wildcats had trouble containing the experienced skill players from Denver East.  The Angels returned many players in their receiving core from their previous season and this position of strength proved to be too much for the Wildcats to handle.

This good news for the Wildcats is that they have a big game on the schedule next week so they will have a chance at redemption.

Fruita Monument High School takes on Grand Junction High School at Stocker Stadium on Friday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Both teams will enter this game seeking their first win of the season.
