GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Colorado Rockies 2013 second-round pick Alex Balog (1-4, 8.31 ERA) recorded his first professional win Monday night at Suplizio Field after Grand Junction (31-39) def. Ogden (LAD) (34-36), 8-4.
Balog threw six complete innings allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out eight.
The 6'5 right-hander out of USF was spotted a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the second after Pioneer League All-Star Raimel Tapia blasted a three-run home run off of Jose De Leon (1-2, 12.33 ERA).
Colorado Rockies pitcher, Roy Oswalt, will make a rehab start Tuesday at Suplizio Field. This marks the second consecutive year that a major league player (Todd Helton, 2012) has rehabbed in Grand Junction.
