WHITEWATER, Colo. - A big decision was announced Monday by the Bureau of Land Management BLM regarding the Whitewater Project near the Palisade Fruit and Wine Byway.
The project was proposed by Fram Exploration to construct 108 wells on 12 well-pads in the Whitewater area. There was initial concern and disapproval from the public, with the project diverting traffic onto the Palisade Fruit and Wine Byway. An alternative route has now been agreed upon, because BLM officials have stressed the interest of the public is very important.
The project will stay south of the Palisade Fruit and Wine Byway, now having traffic diverted onto B Road. The addition of oil wells into the Grand Valley will be beneficial to the already popular natural gas industry.
