DENVER (AP)- The Colorado Department of Transportation says nearly 10.9 million vehicles traveled through the Eisenhower Tunnel on Interstate 70 in 2013, up from 10.7 million the year before.
CDOT said Wednesday the peak traffic month was July, when more than 1.1 million vehicles used the tunnel, an average of about 36,500 a day.
The twin-bore tunnel is about 60 miles west of Denver and crosses under the Continental Divide at 11,155 feet above sea level.
