Sigl, Selsor Named to WBCA All-America Teams

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) released their postseason awards tonight at the Elite Eight competitors banquet.
The WBCA released their All-American teams along with their Regional and National Coaches of the Year. The awards are voted on by the NCAA Division II coaches.
Senior Kelsey Sigl was named to the All-American team after her outstanding season. Earlier this year, she was named the RMAC Player of the Year, South Central Region Tournament Player of the Year, RMAC All-Tournament Team, a Capital One Academic All-American and Daktronics All-American 2nd Team honors. Sigl averages 18.6 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game this season.
Senior Katrina Selsor was named a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention. Selsor has had a solid senior campaign earning All-RMAC 1st Team Honors, RMAC Tournament MVP, and South Central Region All-Tournament team. She was a three-time RMAC Player of the Week and the December RMAC Athlete of the Month. She averages 14.8 points and 8.6 rebounds a contest.
Sigl and Selsor are the first All-Americans the Mavericks have had since Tonya Stites in 1994.
Head Coach Taylor Wagner was named the WBCA South Central Region Coach of the Year in his first season at the reins. Wagner has led the Mavericks to a 31-1 record and to their first NCAA Tournament win. He led the team to the South Central Region title earning the Mavericks their first trip to the NCAA Elite Eight.
Wagner and the Mavericks will take on Dowling College tomorrow in the NCAA National Quarterfinals at 1:30pm (MDT) from Bill Greehey Arena in San Antonio, Texas.
