Mavs Developing Team Chemistry

by KREX News Room

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--The Colorado Mesa football team continued their first week of practice under an entirely new coaching staff Saturday.

The Mavericks return seven starters on offense and six on defense, but still bring in plenty of new faces.

"They are starting to come together as a team," head coach Russ Martin said. "You're seeing guys help each other out. They're cheering each other on, starting to work together, and that's an important part for us. Last spring, that was one of the points of emphasis."

Among the new freshman is former Grand Junction Tiger Jerreon Dennis, the state's leading rusher from last year. The freshman running back was a two-time All-State selection.
