Deke Cisco to "Help Out" at Receiver Saturday Against Fort Lewis

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Mavericks Starting Quarterback at the beginning of the season, Deke Cisco returned to practice this week coming off of an ankle injury he suffered September 15th against Chadron St., and will see time at receiver this Saturday against Fort Lewis.

Cisco has played in four games completing 26-55 passes for two touchdowns and four interceptions.

Junior Jason Haferman took over the quarterbacking responsibilities after Cisco went down and has led the Mavericks to their only two wins of the season (Black Hills St. and Western New Mexico St.).

"Right now we are still going to go with Jason--he's done some good things," said Head Coach, Russ Martin. " Deke (Cisco) may get some plays at quarterback we're banged up at receiver, Deke my actually get some plays from a receiver stand point. He's a good athlete and we want to get him on the field."

Kick off will be Saturday at 6 p.m. at Stocker Stadium. The Mavericks will also look for their first home win under Martin.
