Courtney Maihi Claims 1st-Team All-Conference Honors

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Courtney Maihi was named First Team All-Conference as the top designated player in the conference.

Maihi leads the team with a .444 batting average, 63 RBI and 12 homeruns. Maihi's 63 RBI is a league high. She is tied for first on the team in hits (55) and triples (2) and second with 42 runs. Maihi posted a team high 13 wins (13-10) and an ERA of 4.67. She made 27 appearances, 17 complete game in 24 starts and 147.0 innings pitched. She has struck out a team high 79 batters.

Shannon McClenahan and Jessica Albertson were named Second Team All-Conference for the Mavericks. McClenahan is the Mavs' first baseman and Albertson plays in leftfield.

McClenahan has started all 38 games played and is hitting .368. She has 42 hits, 37 RBI, 22 runs, four homeruns and seven doubles. She is 5 of 6 in stolen bases and a .980 fielding percentage.

Albertson is hitting .401, leads the team in sacrifice hits (8) and tied for first on the team with 55 hits. She has 37 runs and 13 RBI. Albertson has 16 stolen bases (16-19) and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Danielle Vallie is a Third Team All-Conference selection for her outstanding play in centerfield for CMU. A versatile player on the squad she has started several games at shortstop this season. Vallie is hitting .333 and is one of three players to have started all 44 games this season. She has registered 44 hits, 44 runs, 22 RBI and nine doubles. She is 10 of 13 in stolen bases and a .925 fielding percentage.

CMU will play Colorado School of Mines in the first round of the RMAC Softball Championship Tournament on Thursday at 1 pm in Golden, CO. The Mavericks enter the tournament as the #8 seed and play #1 seed, and host, Colorado School of Mines.
