Colorado Mesa's Courtney Maihi Named To NFCA All-Region 1st-Team

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Colorado Mesa's Courtney Maihi was named to the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-Central Region First Team announced today by NFCA committee.


NFCA member coaches in each of the eight regions selected a first and second team with over 204 student-athletes being honored. NFCA Division II All-American teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 16.


Maihi was named last week to the 2012 Daktronics All-Region First Team and now adds the NFCA All-Region honor for her successful season as CMU's designated player.


Maihi led the team with a .444 batting average and finished the season with a team high 68 RBI, 15 homeruns, 63 hits and 46 runs. She had 10 doubles and two triples on the season. Maihi was a perfect 12 for 12 in stolen bases and led the team with a .534 on-base-percentage.


Maihi led the team in victories with 13 (13-13) and finished the season with 26 starts, 31 appearances and a team high 168.0 innings pitched.

CMU wrapped up its eighth NCAA Division II regional tournament berth and Head Coach Kris Mort's 19th and final season at the helm of the Maverick softball program.
