by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.- Colorado Mesa University (22-1, 18-1 RMAC) maintained their hold on the No. 4 ranking in the newly released USA Today / WBCA Top 25 poll.

For the second consecutive week the Mavericks are No. 4 in the poll with a bit of a shake-up in the top three. Ashland University, previously No. 1, dropped to No. 3 with their first loss of the season last weekend. Unbeaten Bentley University claimed the No. 1 spot followed by No. Clayton State University, also undefeated.

CMU rolled over New Mexico Highlands (92-53) and Western New Mexico (77-61) last weekend on the road. The Mavericks have three regular season games remaining before the RMAC Tournament which begins, Tuesday, March 5 at campus sites.

CMU went on an 18-0 streak to start the season, before falling on the road at Colorado Christian. Since that road loss the Mavericks have won four consecutive games. CMU's 18-0 run is the best start in school history and its No. 4 ranking, the highest in the programs history.

Three Mavericks are averaging double digits; Kelsey Sigl (18.3 ppg), Katrina Selsor (14.8) and Sharaya Selsor (13.0). Sigl was named RMAC Offense Player of the Week. The senior from Bismarck posted back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 30.5 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game..

CMU will travel to Western State Colorado University on Saturday.
