by Josh Moser

Grand Junction-<./b>Colorado Mesa got their last practice in this afternoon, before traveling to Pueblo tomorrow, where they will open there 2012 season against #13 University of Minnesota-Mankato Friday at 12 p.m.

"I feel like we should be ranked a little higher and I feel like they are underestimating us," said sophomore pitcher, Ashley Pulido. "I think we have a great team and we really want to go out and play hard and we're looking good right now so I'm excited to see what we have to bring."

"We have great chemistry as a team, said senior center fielder, Dani Vallie. "We have all played together, most of us for more than a year or two years. I'm really confident in all the girls."

"We always have good competition, and they (Mankato) handle it just as well, said senior third baseman, Lauren Cross. "They have speed, they can hit and I think if we keep up with them hitter for hitter, we should be fine."
