Colorado Mesa Narrows Athletic Director Search To Five

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.- Colorado Mesa University will bring five candidates to campus later this month to interview for the position of athletic director. All five applicants have experience as athletic directors or associate athletic directors.

The finalists are current Northwestern Oklahoma State University athletic director Andrew Carter, Drake (Iowa) University associate athletic director Dennis Francois, Bemidji State (Minn.) University athletic director Rick Goeb, University of Cincinnati senior associate athletic director Doug Mosley and Air Force Academy associate athletic director George Nelson.

The finalists were selected from a pool of 48 applicants. Of the 48, 16 were interviewed by telephone and five were selected for on-campus interviews. The five finalists are scheduled for personal interviews during the week of Feb. 25.

Carter is in his second year at Northwestern Oklahoma State. He was the AD at Armstrong Atlantic State (Ga.) University for two years prior to NOSU and was the AD at Newberry (S.C.) College for seven years.

Francois has been on the Drake athletic staff since November 2008. Francois previously served as the athletic director at Southern Oregon University for three years. He was an interim athletic director at New Mexico Highlands for a little more than one year.

Goeb has been the athletic director at Division II Bemidji State since 2001. Goeb was the senior associate athletic director at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks prior going to Bemidji State.

Mosley is in his third year at the University of Cincinnati. He was the senior associate athletic director at the University of Louisiana-Monroe for five years prior to Cincinnati.

Nelson has been at the Air Force since 2003 and the associate athletic director of athletic programs since 2007.
