CMU Preps for Home Opener

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--The Colorado Mesa football team, looking to get its first win of the season, will open RMAC play against Chadron State Saturday.

The Mavs are coming off a 40-3 loss to Northern Colorado. Redshirt freshman Deke Cisco threw an interception on his first pass attempt, and the offense couldn't get much going all afternoon.

Head coach Russ Martin says, as of now, Cisco will remain the starter for the Mavs' home opener, but they'll continue to work with junior quarterback Jason Haferman

Kickoff set for 1 p.m.
