CMU Baseball Releases Early 2013 Recruiting Class

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--Colorado Mesa head baseball coach Chris Hanks announced the early signing of six players for the 2013 recruiting class Monday.

Joining the Mavs are twin infielders Kevan and Trevor Elcock from Highland High School (Queen Creek, AZ). Hanks said the 6-foot, 175 pound brothers are huge upside players.

Also three-time all-conference selection PJ Gonzalez, who Hanks says is arguably one of the best outfielders from the Las Vegas area (Arbor View High School).

Mesa adds a right handed pitcher, Alex Kitzman (Otero Junior College), who was a first-team All-Southwestern League Selection two years ago at Central.

The also get a lefty in Clay Miller, who posted a 1.09 ERA at Bayfield High School and was highly recruited by some big schools, according to Hanks.

Finally, catcher Kyle Serrano from Central, who Hanks says is one of the better hitters they've seen during their recruiting trips.
