GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Colorado Mesa University's Brandon Bingaman was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Golfer of the Year. The junior from Montrose has been outstanding this year in the classroom and on the course. Bingaman was the only unanimous first team selection. He is majoring in Kinesiology.

Bingaman and his Maverick teammates earned their second consecutive NCAA Division II Super Regional Tournament bid and will begin competition on Monday, May 7-9 at the Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, AZ.

Bingaman has five Top 5 finishes this season and finished seventh at the RMAC Men's Spring Championship. His top finish this spring was third place at the RMAC Wolf Pack Invitational in Pueblo where he shot a season low final round of 66. He placed fourth at the Mustang Invitational hosted by Western New Mexico and a second place overall in the region.

The Mavericks will travel this weekend to Phoenix for the Super Regional Tournament, after a second place finish in the RMAC Championships two weeks ago. CMU carries the eight seed headed into the weekend.

Great job, Brandon! Best wishes to you in your career---man, a 66!!!! I hear that you shoot great rounds a lot. Good to know you are continuing the family tradition of fine golfers---your Grandpa & Dad were fantastic, also. Keep working on your game. Again, congratulations on your success!!!!!!
