3 Mavs Named to 1st Team All-WILA

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--The Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association has released the 2012 All-WILA selections on Friday, capping off its second season which saw the Mavericks clinching the conference title.

Kade Robinson, Johnny Nitti, and Brad Brandenburg were named to the 1st team All-WILA with Nitti as the only Maverick earning a unanimous first team selection.

Robinson earned the selection, after being named to the 2nd team All-WILA in 2011, as he finished the season leading the team in points (29) and tied for the team lead in goals (18); he also finished with 11 assists, 14 groundballs and 1 caused turnover.

Nitti earned his second 1st team All-WILA in as many years after he finished the season with a team high in groundballs (46) and caused turnovers (12), and started on the defense in every game for the Mavs.

Brandenburg earned his 1st team All-WILA selection, after earning an honorable mention in 2011, as he finished the season leading all goalies in the conference in goals against average (5.17); he also had 75 saves on the year for a save percentage of .664 on his way to a 6-3 record while also picking up 24 groundballs and causing 1 turnover.

Daniel Caddoo was the lone Maverick on the 2nd team All-WILA after he finished the year tied for the team lead in goals (18); he also had 8 assists, 32 groundballs, and 5 caused turnovers on the year.

Austin Pridham, Josh Russell, Aaron Eggiman, Jeremy Best, Dakota Klossner, Zach Bullett, Stuart Foster, Giuliano Sanchez, and Zach Weaver all earned honorable mention status from the WILA, with Klossner and Foster both earning their second honorable mentions.

Coach A.J. Stevens was named Coach of the Year in the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association after he led the Mavs to a 9-4 record en route to a WILA Conference Title.
