Signing Day : Grand Junction High School Football

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Grand Junction seniors Austin Berk and James Diamonte gathered in front of family, teammates, and friends Wednesday morning holding their "Signing Day," recognizing their commitments to play Division I football beginning in the Spring of 2013.

Berk, a two-time All-State award winner, will attend Colorado State after being the first verbal commit to Jim MacElwain in Fort Collins. He will play defensive end, after playing on both sides of the ball for Head Coach Robbie Owens at Grand Junction.

Diamonte is also an All-State performer and will play defensive tackle at Wyoming next season, where he hopes to play as a true freshman.

Both are rumored to be on the Denver Post All-Colorado team, which will be released sometime after Christmas.
