Boys Hoops: Montrose Edges Out Fruita 48-44

by KREX News Room

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--Montrose held on until the final seconds to beat Fruita for the second time this season, 48-44 Tuesday night at Fruita Monument High School.

The Indians led for much of the game; however, senior Spencer Fair knocked down a three with 30 seconds left to pull within one point.

Montrose took a three point lead after hitting two free throws, but Fruita's Matt Story drew a foul with 2.7 seconds left. He made the first and tried to miss the second, but it accidentally went in.

That would seal the deal as the Indians got the ball and pulled away after a technical.
