Grand Junction Sweeps Montrose On The Hardwood Friday Night

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Both Grand Junction basketball teams defeated Montrose Friday night, each taking hold of the top spot in the Southwestern League.

The boys defeated the Indians 63-41, after trailing 20-19 at the half. Sophomore forward D.J. Wells led all players with 25 points.

The girls handed #7 Montrose their second league loss of the season hanging on 44-37. Sophomore guard Sydni Brandon led the Tigers with 12 points.

Both teams are back on the court next Friday at Montezuma-Cortez.
